Fire: An unfortunate but convincing experience
“You can bet the (next) house will be a dome. I only get burned once…. Pun intended.” So said Frank Figueroa, who works with Monolithic Constructors, Inc., and whose small, brick home in Italy, Texas burned on the afternoon of January 15.
When people at Monolithic headquarters heard about the fire, they phoned Frank in Ankara, Turkey, where he’s working with the Monolithic crew that’s constructing the domes for Ankara’s new cultural center.
Apparently the fire started in the kitchen. It took volunteer firefighters from three communities to extinguish the flames that totally destroyed the home. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
David South, president of Monolithic, said, “We’ll do what we can to help Frank get into a Monolithic Dome home that’s fire-safe.”
