The Yorkie Dome The Yorkie Dome: Owner Glenna Crockett said she named her Monolithic Dome home after the Yorkshire Terriers she raises. (Carol Shilts) Built in 2007, Yorkie Dome has a diameter of 42 feet, a height of 25 feet, and a living area of 2067 square feet. Glenna loved decorating it for Christmas. (Carol Shilts) This lovely Monolithic Dome home has three levels topped by a cupola. (Carol Shilts) In addition to the master bedroom, Yorkie Dome has 2 other bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen on its ground floor. (Carol Shilts) Glenna enjoys entertaining and really likes cooking in her well equipped kitchen. (Carol Shilts) Yorkie Dome’s second level has an open play area, a TV and a bedroom. From the cupola, Glenna and her visitors can view Superstition Mountain. (Carol Shilts) For the construction of her dome-home, Glenna acted as her own General Contractor. Not surprisingly, she also did all her own decorating. (Carol Shilts) Located in a semi-rural area just outside of Mesa, Arizona, Yorkie Dome acts as a landmark for folks traveling to Glenna’s or her neighbors’ homes. (Carol Shilts) Comfortable guest bedrooms await the many visitors to the Yorkie Dome. (Carol Shilts) Glenna’s dome is only one of five homes in her area. She said that her neighbors all love her Yorkie Dome and marvel at its spaciousness. (Carol Shilts)
