Thyme For Bed Inn in Lowell, Indiana was recently featured on a “Fantastical Five” list of unique inns. Hundreds of visitors have stayed in the Monolithic Dome’s four bedrooms since it opened in 1999.

Other inns that made the Fantastical Five list include:

• The Featherbed Railroad Bed & Breakfast Resort in Nice, California, which has nine specially-themed former railroad caboose cars including the “Orient Express,” “Casablanca,” and “Wine Country.”

• The Cajun Village Cottages in Sorrento, Lousiana, which is made up of century-old shotgun houses that are designed so that if a shotgun is fired from one end, the bullet could travel straight through and exit out the other side.

• Vertical Horizons Treehouse Paradise Bed & Breakfast Inn in Cave Junction, Oregon, where you can sleep among the birds in its themed tree houses.

• Schooner Manitou in Traverse City, Michigan, which is actually a 12-cabin mid-1800s style windjammer that can accommodate 24 guests.
